Version 1 is hiring a Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain backend components in a cloud-native microservices environment. You will work on high-volume messaging, caching, and distributed processing, ensuring performance and resilience.

We expect strong Java, Spring Boot, REST API, and SQL skills, plus experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift, and modern security practices. Flexible and remote working options are available within the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience developing cloud-native applications with a microservices architecture.
• Strong Java development skills and SQL proficiency.
• Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend components in Java with focus on performance.
• Contribute to messaging, caching, and distributed processing layers.
• Troubleshoot sequencing, recovery, and large-volume processing issues.
• Support releases, deployments, and production stability.
• Adhere to CI/CD pipelines and code quality standards.
• Apply performance, security, and resilience best practices for messaging.
• Collaborate with Tech Lead and team on design reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Raise risks and blockers with clear progress updates.
