Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is seeking three Innovation Engineers / Innovation Project Managers for a six-month assignment in Warwick, with remote work and travel across the UK. You will plan, develop and deliver innovation projects from early research to broad rollout.

You will manage complex programmes, develop plans and budgets, support Ofgem funding applications, and create business cases to support investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline, or significant electricity network experience with a technical qualification.
• Recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP or APM PMQ.
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of UK electricity transmission and/or distribution networks and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver innovation and deployment projects from early-stage research to rollout.
• Manage complex projects from concept through delivery, including budgets, risks and milestones.
• Support and lead applications for Ofgem innovation funding (NIA/SIF).
• Develop cost‑benefit assessments and business cases for investment decisions.
• Collaborate with NGED teams and external partners to trial and implement new solutions.
• Facilitate transition of innovations into operational deployment and share knowledge across the organisation.
• Represent NGED at industry, regulatory and Government forums; prepare reports per Ofgem/NGED requirements.
