Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking a Head of Housing Operations to lead our housing services across England, ensuring residents receive high-quality standards and safe, well-managed housing. You will shape strategy, manage multi-site operations, drive occupancy, optimise income, and oversee governance, safety and compliance while developing teams and partnerships.

This remote role requires national travel across ALS services and a strong track record in senior housing leadership within

Qualifications

• CIH Level 5 or above housing qualification or working towards this
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent senior leadership experience
• Leadership qualification such as ILM Level 7, MBA or equivalent
• Experience in charitable or not-for-profit organisation would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Lead housing operations across multiple sites, ensuring residents are at the heart of the service.
• Drive budgets, occupancy, income collection and value-for-money performance.
• Oversight of safety, building/fire safety, governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Inspire and develop high-performing teams, succession planning and staff wellbeing.
• Champion resident experience and community engagement to support independence and wellbeing.
• Build partnerships with local authorities, commissioners and stakeholders.
• Lead service improvement and digital-enabled efficiencies.
• Strengthen community impact and sustainability initiatives.
