Job summary

MetLife UK is seeking a Group Income Protection Claims Assessor to manage end-to-end claims with accuracy and care, delivering trusted decisions to policyholders and intermediaries.

You will operate within defined authority levels, collaborating with underwriters and external partners to obtain essential information, while leveraging AI tools to enhance drafting, summarizing and daily efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience handling Group Income Protection claims.
• Ability to demonstrate technical claims assessment and decision making.
• Knowledge of Medical or Scheme Underwriting would be beneficial.
• Claims decision making authority is essential.
• Working knowledge of AI capabilities to evaluate outputs.

Responsibilities

• Assess, decide, settle and communicate Group Income Protection claims end-to-end.
• Operate within approved authority and service levels.
• Provide excellent customer service to policyholders and intermediaries.
• Manage the claims relationship for an assigned portfolio.
• Identify and address compliance, FCA/TCF requirements.
• Collaborate with underwriters and external providers to obtain information.
• Support claims projects and change initiatives.
• Sign off on claims for colleagues.
• Manage claim appeals within process and authority.
• Utilize approved AI tools to support routine tasks.
