Job summary

Proactive Appointments is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with GIS expertise to design and deliver geospatial and enterprise solutions. The role supports remote work with options for hybrid or office-based arrangements across the UK.

You will work across industries, employing state-of-the-art geospatial technologies, APIs, and cloud platforms while ensuring security and scalable deployments. A strong focus on collaboration with developers and stakeholders is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in hands-on design, configuration, and deployment of enterprise systems.
• Experience with databases, web technologies, application integration, software engineering, networking, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), disaster recovery, and high availability.
• Comfortable with GIS technologies and geospatial data; experience designing geospatial solutions.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, such as firewalls, zero-trust approaches, and SAML.
• Familiar with automation, Azure DevOps, notebooks, and serverless compute.
• Ability to work with developers using Python and JavaScript.
• Experience designing solutions that use REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver across a broad range of solutions using geospatial and enterprise technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement GIS-based solutions across industries.
• Lead architecture discussions and guide solution design end-to-end.
• Ensure security best practices and reliable, scalable deployments.
• Engage with developers to implement RESTful interfaces and automation.
