Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Model Validation Senior Manager to oversee Generative AI use cases in the second line of defense. You will lead model risk governance, develop validation standards, and coach teams across Gen AI initiatives to ensure safe, customer-centric deployments within the UK.

You will collaborate with first-line teams, validate models through their lifecycle, and report findings to committees, balancing technical rigor with regulatory requirements in a fast-paced banking environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Data Science or ML background with solid Python expertise.
• Experience designing Generative AI evaluation frameworks, architectures and tooling.
• Knowledge of Gemini implementations and change assessment in banking.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent model validations and governance across Gen AI use cases.
• Lead 2LoD oversight of operational models and changes through full lifecycle.
• Prepare clear validation reports and present findings to oversight committees.
• Collaborate with 1LoD modelling teams to embed model risk standards.
• Monitor model performance and drive risk mitigation actions.
• Coach and share validation methodologies with colleagues.
