Remote Funds Client Accountant (Private Equity)

Job summary

IQ-EQ in the United Kingdom is seeking a Client Accountant – Funds to join a remote-capable team. You will manage day-to-day relationships with designated fund clients (private equity, real estate, credit or debt) and ensure deliverables, timelines and communications meet client and regulatory standards.

The role requires ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or equivalent, a higher education qualification, and 3+ years in financial services or accounting.

Qualifications

• Hold a higher education qualification (e.g., IATI) and be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, qualified by experience, or equivalent.
• Bring 3+ years of experience in a professional office environment, ideally within financial services or an accounting practice managing multiple client relationships.
• Demonstrate strong accounting expertise, including reviewing working papers and financial statements with disclosures, or equivalent CPD.
• Have proven experience managing client relationships and resolving issues directly with clients in a professional manner.
• Support and mentor junior team members while applying intermediate Excel skills to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Act as day-to-day front office contact for designated fund clients (private equity, real estate, credit or debt).
• Review quarterly/annual financial statements to ensure compliance with reporting standards (UK GAAP or IFRS) in collaboration with Manager and Technical & Training teams.
• Validate investor drawdown and distribution calculations, ensuring accurate fund movements and clear communication of cash activities to investors.
• Mentor and support team members while developing expertise in client-specific accounting frameworks (per LPA).
• Drive process improvement, balance stakeholder needs, and optimize workflows to reduce risk and boost efficiency.
