Job summary

SILA Linguists is recruiting freelance Hazaragi interpreters and translators for asylum, legal, healthcare and resettlement work in the UK. Duties include interpreting in Hazaragi and Dari where needed, translating documents, and maintaining confidentiality across video, telephone or on-site assignments.

Candidates should have native fluency in Hazaragi and English, relevant interpreting qualifications (DPSI/DPI) or equivalent experience, and be eligible to work in the UK with DBS consideration

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Hazaragi and English with good Dari.
Qualified interpreting or translation credentials (DPSI/DPI) or equivalent experience.
UK right to work for on-site assignments; DBS check available or willing.

Responsibilities

Interpret in Hazaragi, switching to Dari when required.
Translate Afghan documents and statements from Hazaragi speakers.
Interpret accurately and maintain confidentiality.
Prepare vocabulary for medical and legal bookings.
Work remotely by video/phone or on-site; meet deadlines.
Transcribe/translate audio or video when capable.
