Job summary

Steven Burton & Co is offering a 1 year 6 month apprenticeship in Colchester to support accounts, tax and VAT work, with training toward Professional Accounting Technician Level 4.

Earn £25,000 per year, work Monday to Friday 8:30-5, start 1 January 2027, with training from FIRST INTUITION EAST AND NORTH LIMITED, and gain on-the-job experience using Xero and QBO while building client relationships.

Qualifications

• English (grade 4)
• Maths (grade 4)
• AAT L3 in Accountancy (grade Pass)
• AAT L4 in Accountancy (grade In Progress)
• Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Responsibilities

• Work with Xero and QBO
• Prepare annual accounts, personal tax returns and VAT returns
• Review team members work
• Promote the services of the business to clients and potential clients
• Manage staff and workloads to ensure internal deadlines are met
