The ideal candidate will have experience in SMEs, be proficient with Xero or similar software, and hold or be studying towards an AAT qualification. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping for SMEs.
• Experience with VAT returns.
• Proficient with Xero or similar cloud accounting software.
• AAT qualification or working towards it.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Good client communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of SME clients
• Process and reconcile bank, credit card, supplier and customer accounts
• Process invoices and expenses
• Prepare VAT returns and supporting paperwork
• Identify and correct discrepancies within bookkeeping records
• Liaise with clients regarding missing information and queries
• Maintain accurate and up to date client records
• Support wider accounts team with bookkeeping and VAT queries
• Work to internal and statutory deadlines
