Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer - Product Safety for a largely remote, UK-based role with periodic on-site presence in LA14 and other sites. You will deliver the Product Safety Management System, lead hazard analyses and drive safety-case development on complex projects.

The role offers a 12-month contract, with Inside IR35 status and an hourly rate of £74.68. You will collaborate across teams to ensure products are safe to own and legally compliant.

Qualifications

• Experience in Product Safety engineering and hazard/risk management.
• Ability to derive and manage safety requirements and safety cases.
• Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and project safety processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard and risk identification, management and assessment activities.
• Develop, implement and maintain the Safety Management System and Safety Case components.
• Provide Product Safety engineering guidance to the wider project and organisation.
• Deliver training materials and participate in technical reviews and peer checks.
