A defense sector client is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to support engineering teams in delivering compliant products. You will develop safety documentation, manage hazard logs, and ensure alignment with MOD safety standards. Ideal candidates should have a degree in a relevant engineering field and strong communication skills. This role is a contract position lasting 12 months with a full-time commitment in Glascoed, Wales.

• Develop and maintain Safety & Environmental Case (SEC) documentation.

Experience with the engineering lifecycle

Familiarity with UK MOD standards (Def Stan 00-056, DSA 03.OME)

Overview

Product Safety Engineer for BAE Systems Land (UK). The role supports the engineering team in delivering safe, compliant products within the defence sector. You will play a key role in ensuring product safety through hazard identification, risk assessment, and compliance with MOD safety standards.

Role details

Position: Product Safety Engineer

Client: BAE Systems

Contract: 12 months, 37 hours per week

Security Clearance: BPSS + SC in flight

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Safety & Environmental Case (SEC) documentation.
• Create and manage Product Hazard Logs.
• Conduct safety reviews of engineering designs to ensure alignment with internal frameworks and MOD safety standards (e.g., Def Stan 00-056, DSA 03.OME).
• Support project teams with safety-related input for bids and designs.
• Perform hazard analysis techniques including FMEA and FTA.
• Contribute to the delivery of conforming, safe products.

Skills & Experience

• Experience with the engineering lifecycle.
