Job summary

Pearson seeks an External Examiner (EE) for MedTech for England (2026) RQF. The role involves sampling student work, upholding national standards, and supporting centres across the BTEC Higher National programmes. It requires significant HE QA experience and ongoing professional development.

The EE will report on sampling outcomes, provide guidance to centres, and may assist with standardisation activities. This is a fully remote post within the UK.

Qualifications

• Significant teaching experience of HN within the last 10 years.
• Significant experience in delivering and assessing BTEC Higher National qualifications in the subject area.
• Lead role for Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and passion for raising standards in HE.
• Participation annually in online training and standardisation activities.

Responsibilities

• Affirm national standards have been achieved and upheld.
• Monitor external examiner sampling and visits to ensure Pearson quality expectations.
• Provide sampling-related support and development to centres.
• Produce reports on sampling outcomes and provide guidance to centres.
• Apply appropriate sanctions in consultation with the team leader when standards are not met.
• Develop targeted actions for centres to assist with remedial actions.
