Job summary

Pearson PLC is seeking an External Examiner (EE) for MedTech for England (2026) RQF to ensure national standards across BTEC Higher National programmes. You will monitor sampling, support centres during sampling, and deliver reports on outcomes and improvements.

Essentially, you will have deep HN teaching experience, lead IQA activities, and participate in ongoing CPD, to uphold Pearson quality assurance expectations. This role requires collaboration with the SEE and centre staff.

Qualifications

• Significant teaching experience of HN within the last 10 years.
• Significant experience delivering and assessing BTEC Higher National qualifications.
• Hold a Level 6 qualification and a full competence qualification for working in the sector.
• Annual participation in online training and standardisation activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sampling of assessed work to ensure standards are met.
• Provide sampling-related support and development to centres.
• Produce reports on sampling outcomes and actions taken.
• Apply appropriate sanctions in consultation with the team leader when needed.
• Produce targeted actions for centres to support remedial work.
• Support centres with training materials and standardisation for SEE.
