Job summary

Medify is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of full-stack engineers. You will remain hands-on for at least 50% of your time, driving architecture, development, testing and deployment across Rails and React-based systems.

You'll work closely with the CTO, Product and Design to define technical direction, foster a culture of excellence, and recruit top engineering talent. This is a fully remote UK-based opportunity with broad impact across our learning platform.

Qualifications

• 2+ years leading or managing software engineering teams.
• 5+ years' experience in software development.
• Experience with modern software engineering practices and frameworks.
• Rails and React experience is highly desirable.
• Track record building scalable, maintainable software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of full-stack engineers through coaching and reviews.
• Foster continuous learning, collaboration and technical excellence.
• Support career development and capability building across the team.
• Contribute to hiring through interviews and recruitment support.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable software solutions.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into solutions.
• Participate in architectural decisions shaping the Medify platform.
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with reliability and performance.
• Develop automated tests and foster testing culture.
• Participate in agile planning and sprint delivery.
• Stay updated with technologies to improve practices.
