Job summary

Central YMCA in Doncaster is seeking an Employability Study Programme Tutor to deliver engaging, practical learning for post-16 learners, including Entry Level to Level 2 programmes with Functional Skills and GCSE English/Maths.

You will provide pastoral support, monitor progress and work with apprenticeship teams to ensure positive progression. The role combines classroom teaching with employability skills development in a supportive centre.

Qualifications

• PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent teaching qualification).
• A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational subject.
• Experience of teaching English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Experience of delivering engaging learning to young people within a Further Education or post-16 setting.
• The ability to build positive relationships, motivate learners and adapt teaching to meet varying needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver employability and skills-based teaching to post-16 learners.
• Teach Entry Level to Level 2, including Functional Skills and GCSE English & maths.
• Embed work readiness, behaviour, and social skills into lessons.
• Monitor learner progress and set individual learning targets.
• Organise and support assessments, coursework, and examinations.
• Provide pastoral and tutorial support to learners.
• Maintain accurate learner records using ICT and tracking systems.
• Build effective links with apprenticeship tutors and external organisations.
