Job summary

Ex-Mil Recruitment Ltd is representing a Commercial Manager to join a specialist SME serving the UK MOD and emergency services. The role is remote, with travel to UK sites as needed, and offers a salary of £45,000–£55,000 per year plus car allowance, bonus and benefits.

The successful candidate will own key customer relationships, drive commercial opportunities and manage the sales process, with emphasis on account management, bids and long-term partnerships within defence and government sectors.

Qualifications

• Military experience in a specialist or operational environment is highly valued.
• Understanding of Defence acquisition and procurement processes.
• Ability to manage customers, suppliers, and commercial relationships.
• Confidence when engaging with senior military, government and end-user stakeholders.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical equipment solutions.
• Knowledge across electro-optics, thermal imaging, load carriage, robotics or drones is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of MOD, military and Emergency Services accounts.
• Build relationships with end users, procurement and commercial stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop new areas of business.
• Support bids, tenders and negotiated procurement processes.
• Work closely with international suppliers to develop customer solutions.
• Provide product demonstrations and customer briefings where required.
• Translate customer requirements into practical equipment solutions.
• Develop relationships across the Army, Royal Marines, Police and Emergency Services markets.
• Attend customer meetings and undertake UK travel.
• Contribute to the wider commercial and sales strategy of the business.
