Job summary

Anson McCade Pty is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing security team, work across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructures, and own security controls from design to operation. The role combines engineering, security operations, automation, and infrastructure security with modern threat detection, SIEM tooling, and vulnerability management.

UK SC clearance is required for this position. Location is England-wide with remote-first policy; occasional office visits bi-monthly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' commercial experience in Cyber Security Engineer, Security Operations, or Infrastructure Security.
• Strong networking, cloud security, and platform engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with SIEM technologies such as Splunk, Sentinel, ELK, Cribl.
• Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud environments.
• Scripting with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• IaC exposure with Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across infrastructure, applications, and platforms.
• Supporting security monitoring and threat detection via SIEM and log management.
• Automating security processes and tooling using scripting and infra automation.
• Managing and securing network infrastructure, firewalls, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Conducting security assessments and infrastructure reviews against recognised standards and benchmarks.
• Collaborating with engineering and security teams to embed security best practices throughout the technology lifecycle.
• Supporting vulnerability management, endpoint security, and incident response activities where required.

Salary: Up to £70,000 + Package

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years' commercial experience working in a Cyber Security Engineer, Security Operations, or Infrastructure Security role.
• Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, platform engineering, and security fundamentals.
• Experience with SIEM technologies such as Splunk, Sentinel, ELK, Cribl, or similar.
• Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud environments.
• Scripting or programming experience using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Exposure to vulnerability management, IDS/IPS technologies, endpoint security, and security monitoring.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to security.
