Job summary

VulnCheck seeks a Software Engineer for Rapid Response Assignment (UK). This hands-on role focuses on diagnosing and fixing complex issues across our platform, delivering improvements aligned with customer needs, and working with Customer Success to ensure durable outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of backend experience, strong programming skills in Python/Go/Java, and a solid grasp of distributed systems. This is a 100% remote role, with a preference for Cheltenham-based candidates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems as a software engineer.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer-reported issues quickly and thoroughly, from investigation through to a durable fix.
• Diagnose complex, ambiguous problems across services and data pipelines, tracing them to root cause.
• Deliver high-quality engineering work that improves the platform and directly addresses customer needs.
• Partner with Customer Success to align on technical solutions and outcomes.
• Maintain and improve backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and uphold engineering best practices.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and observability across the platform.
• Participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
