Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Backend Developers for remote UK work to design, build and optimize server-side systems and APIs powering AI products. You’ll work across data pipelines, model-serving infra, and scalable microservices that handle real-world traffic.

This fully remote, flexible contract role supports 10–40 hours per week, with asynchronous collaboration and ongoing opportunities on AI‑adjacent infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more back end languages (Python, Go, Java, Node.js, Rust)
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient in Git and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back end services, APIs, and data pipelines
• Build scalable server-side architecture to support AI workloads
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and third‑party APIs
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to architectural decisions
• Work asynchronously with distributed teams across time zones
