Job summary

McHale Komatsu is recruiting for an Apprentice Construction Plant Engineer, based in Reading and working remotely as part of a fixed-term 4-year programme. You’ll spend 3 years college-based apprenticeship and gain hands-on experience with expert Service Engineers in workshop and field settings.

You’ll develop skills in maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair while building a long-term career in heavy plant engineering with supported mentoring.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade 4/C or above.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Interest in machinery, engineering and plant industry.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside qualified engineers in workshop and field environments.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of construction equipment.
• Help with major repair work and component inspections.
• Learn how machinery and key components operate.
• Develop planning and problem-solving skills diagnosing faults.
• Support teamwork, safe working practices and site travel.
