Job Summary
The Integrated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) role will work the Substance Misuse Service (ISMS) remotely. This Service provides support, treatment and interventions for people within the criminal justice system who present with drug/alcohol and complex health needs which may be contributing towards the offending issues.
Within this service DrPA provides the remote clinical assessments for people subject to a community court order or for people on licensee conditions.
The ANP Role will provide clinical assessments, prescribe and deliver ongoing treatment planning for individuals presenting with substance dependency and social vulnerabilities. Working within a multidisciplinary criminal justice partnership, the post holder contributes to therapeutic interventions, harm-reduction strategies, and recovery-focused care pathways designed to improve health outcomes and support rehabilitation.
The role combines advanced clinical practice with offender health principles, supporting individuals through engagement, stabilisation, treatment, and transition between court ordered Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR) through to custody and community services. The ANP plays a key role in reducing drug- and alcohol-related harm, improving wellbeing, and supporting safer reintegration into society through evidence-based clinical interventions and collaborative working with healthcare, probation, court, prison, and third-sector partners.
The post holder promotes trauma-informed, person-centred care and contributes to the overall service objective of addressing the underlying causes of substance-related offending, protecting individuals, families, and communities while improving long-term recovery outcomes
