Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Accredited Clinical Coder with potential remote coding availability. The role requires NCCQ, accurate diagnostic coding and experience with ICD-10/OPCS, using encoding software and PAS systems.

The post is based in the Corporate division within the Strategy, Governance and Performance care group, offering flexible working and opportunities within the NHS Trust. A permanent position with full-time hours is advertised.

Competenze

National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ)
Has passed a Clinical Coding Refresher Course within the last 3 years
Clinical Coding Standards Course

Mansioni

To analyse and abstract diagnostic and procedural information from patient records across all specialties.
To translate diagnostic and procedural information using ICD-10 and OPCS and enter coding onto the Trusts PAS via encoding software.
To routinely use all electronic clinical systems available to ensure all relevant details are recorded for each patient spell.
To ensure all discharged patient spells are coded by SUS submission deadlines.
To regularly communicate issues with uncoded discharges via internal reporting processes in the agreed format.
To maintain the levels of coding accuracy as defined by Data Security Toolkit Standard 1 Data Quality and achieve the performance metrics as defined internally by the Clinical Coding department
