Job summary

E-ACT The Oldham Academy North is seeking a Teacher of Religious Studies to deliver engaging RS lessons and inspire students to think critically about faith, ethics, philosophy and the world around them. You will support academic and pastoral development in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will hold QTS or equivalent, with strong RS subject knowledge and a commitment to high expectations, inclusive practice, and ongoing professional growth within a supportive school

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in a relevant subject specialism, with strong Religious Studies subject knowledge and understanding of effective pedagogy.
• Proven ability to teach good or outstanding lessons and secure positive outcomes for students across a range of ages and abilities.
• Strong classroom management and assessment skills, using data effectively to inform teaching, raise standards and accelerate progress.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, support colleagues and foster students' self-esteem and respect for others

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, engaging Religious Studies lessons that inspire students and ensure strong progress and achievement for all learners.
• Plan and adapt learning activities using inclusive teaching strategies that meet the needs of students of all abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and inform future teaching and intervention strategies.
• Support the academic, personal and pastoral development of students, including acting as a form tutor and promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents while upholding 's and 's values of Thinking Big, Doing the Right Thing and Showing Team Spirit
