Job summary

E-ACT The Oldham Academy North in Oldham is seeking a Teacher of Religious Studies to deliver high-quality RS lessons within an inclusive 11-16 academy. You will contribute to student progress and participate in pastoral duties, ensuring a positive learning environment and strong outcomes.

The successful candidate will hold QTS or equivalent, have a degree in Religious Studies, and demonstrate excellent classroom management and assessment skills to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in a relevant subject specialism, with strong Religious Studies subject knowledge and understanding of effective pedagogy.
• Proven ability to teach good or outstanding lessons and secure positive outcomes for students across a range of ages and abilities.
• Strong classroom management and assessment skills, using data effectively to inform teaching, raise standards and accelerate progress.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, support colleagues and foster students’ self-esteem and respect for others

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, engaging Religious Studies lessons that inspire students and ensure strong progress and achievement for all learners.
• Plan and adapt learning activities using inclusive teaching strategies that meet the needs of students of all abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and inform future teaching and intervention strategies.
• Support the academic, personal and pastoral development of students, including acting as a form tutor and promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents while upholding 's and 's values of Thinking Big, Doing the Right Thing and Showing Team Spirit
