You will provide a high-quality, customer-oriented service, understanding that all actions should be customer-led. Under the direction of the scheme manager and support team, you will assist in providing care and support to customers. You will help maintain and promote the dignity of all individuals to improve their health and wellbeing in a safe and appropriate environment.

Role Profile

We employ Psychologically Informed and Trauma Informed Care principles to support customers in making positive choices, developing new perspectives, and progressing toward independence by:

  • Assisting in planning and delivering personalized support and move-on plans
  • Understanding risk management and supporting regular reviews of support and risk
  • Motivating customers to meet outcomes and develop life skills
  • Assisting with day-to-day support and tenancy-related matters
  • Supporting access to employment, education, and training opportunities
  • Signposting to external support services, such as food banks
  • Supporting customers to be ‘tenancy ready’ for successful move-on
  • Helping customers achieve financial independence through budgeting and income maximization
  • Monitoring healthcare needs and liaising with healthcare professionals
  • Empowering self-management of medication following Riverside procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records on digital platforms
  • Promoting customer involvement and consultation
  • Delivering group work sessions

Deliver a support service:

  • Managing the referral process for new customers
  • Contributing to housing management, including income collection and support
  • Maintaining a safe environment and reporting repairs or safety concerns
  • Cleaning and preparing customer rooms as needed
  • Handling challenging situations sensitively and safely
  • Following safeguarding procedures and escalating risks appropriately
  • Building local partnerships for holistic support
  • Carrying out administrative and operational duties
  • Updating financial systems and submitting information returns
  • Acting as a point of contact via phone and reception

Other Information

  • Flexible working hours may be required
  • Use of Lone Worker system when necessary
  • Adherence to Riverside’s policies and procedures, including health & safety, safeguarding, GDPR, and cash handling

  • Participation in team meetings, supervisions, and training
  • Additional duties may be assigned in consultation with your Line Manager

Person specification

  • Understanding of barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse groups, including those with complex needs
  • Experience working in a team and communicating positively
  • Ability to organize tasks and plan effectively
  • Empathetic, flexible, resilient, and proactive attitude
  • Ability to use initiative and make decisions confidently
  • Basic administrative and IT skills, including record keeping
  • Personal lived experience of homelessness, mental health issues, or substance misuse
