Job summary

Sense is hiring a Relief Support Worker for a residential service in King’s Heath, Birmingham. This casual role offers flexible shifts from early to late, with training provided on start. You will support three individuals with complex needs, including sensory impairments, in a 4-bedroom home.

No prior experience required; training is provided. Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable, and a positive, caring attitude is essential for this role.

Looking for a new challenge that is life changing?

We are looking for passionate and motivated Relief support workers to join a fantastic team at our residential service in King’s Heath.


This is a casual role with flexible shift patterns every week with early shifts ( 7.00am till 2.30pm ) and late shifts (2.00pm – 9.30pm), paying £13/hr.


The service is a 4-bedroom, detached home in a residential area and the 3 individuals who live here are deaf, blind, have dual sensory impairments or severe complex needs with elements of challenging needs.


You do not require prior experience as full training will be provided when you start this role. However, prior experience of working with challenging behaviour is desirable.


We are looking for someone who is:


  • Positive, with a can-do attitude

  • Flexible and comfortable working across a varied shift pattern

  • Willing to attend training and develop in their role


This role might include supporting people with:


  • Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning

  • Personal care and hygiene

  • Finances and medication

  • Going into the community for activities, shopping, and social events
