Job summary

Sense in West Bromwich is looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our service supporting individuals with learning disabilities and health needs in a 2:1 setting. This permanent role offers up to 37.5 hours per week within a warm, person-centred team.

Shifts are 7:00–14:30 and 14:00–21:30, with possible weekend and bank holiday work. A full manual UK driving license is desirable for transporting individuals to appointments and activities. Knowledge of British Sign Language is also welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in a 2:1 service setting.
  • Assist with a wide range of activities to support health and wellbeing.
  • Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, finances and medication management.
  • Take individuals to appointments and activities using the company vehicle.
  • Participate in community outings and social/educational activities.
  • Assist with cooking, cleaning and daily routines.

Job description

Here at Sense, we now have a greatopportunity for a Support Workerto join our service in West Bromwich.

This is a permanent role, with contracts available for up to 37.5 hours per week. You will join a fantastic team here at our home which CQC rated as Good, where you will be supporting individuals who have learning disabilities with a range of health conditions.

A full manual UK license is desirable as we have manual 9 seater company vehicle used to drive and take individuals to appointments, activities outside of the home and trips. Knowledge or qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is desirable.

As a Support Worker, you will support theindividualsin a 2:1 service where necessary and also take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing. We like to participate in a wide range of activities,including cycling,disco, hydro pool and outdoor pursuits.

The shift patterns at this service are as follows:7am-2.30pm and 2pm-9.30pm. You may be required to work some weekends and bank holidays.
