Job summary

The Gingerbread Centre in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking Relief Workers to cover annual leave and sickness at Rothesay Court and Catherine Court. The role is a zero-hour contract and will cover Evening & Weekend Support Practitioner and Night Support Worker shifts as needed.

You will welcome new admissions, promote independence, and ensure safety and wellbeing. Candidates should be IT literate with strong communication and recordkeeping skills, and have knowledge of homelessness issues.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level II in a relevant area
• IT literacy with Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent recordkeeping
• Knowledge of homelessness issues

Responsibilities

• Reception cover
• Health and safety checks of the building
• Security of the building, including monitoring those entering or leaving
• Offer practical advice to service users
• Respond to emergencies and refer to other agencies when necessary
