Job summary

Mencap is seeking Relief Support Workers to join our team in Rawtenstall on a 4-month contract. This role includes two positions, each 30 hours per week, with a salary of £24,785 per year.

The role involves supporting two men with moderate learning disabilities (one with Parkinson's disease). Tasks include moving and handling, medication support, finances, personal care, and home maintenance. You will plan meals, shop, attend medical appointments, and enable participation in community activities.

Qualifications

• Must have a genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities for individuals with learning disabilities.
• Provide medication assistance and support with finances and personal care.
• Maintain the home: cleaning, laundry, meal planning and shopping, and attending medical appointments.
• Support access to community activities and outings with service users.
• Drive a vehicle (automatic & manual) if able.
