Job summary

Mencap is seeking passionate Relief Support Workers to join our team in Rawtenstall. This is a 4 month contract with two 30-hour positions. You will support two gentlemen with learning disabilities, including Parkinson's, with daily activities, medication, finances, and personal care.

Role involves moving and handling, driving duties preferred, and providing community access and social activities. Training and inclusive workplace offered.

Qualifications

• Emotionally supportive and patient with individuals who have learning disabilities.
• Ability to build trusting relationships and communicate clearly.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Driver who can drive both automatic and manual cars is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities, including medication support and financial management.
• Provide personal care and support while maintaining home, cleaning and laundry tasks.
• Plan meals, help with weekly shop, and attend health/medical appointments.
• Support access to community activities and social events such as church, meals out, and outings.
