Job summary

Orkney Islands Council is seeking a Relief Social Care Worker for St Rognvald's House. The role involves carrying out delegated duties to meet the social and domestic care needs of service users, while upholding confidentiality and safety standards.

You will assist with personal care in line with Care Inspectorate requirements and may need to work unsocial hours on a rota, travelling between Orkney locations as needed.

Qualifications

• SVQ2 or equivalent qualification in Social Care.
• SVQ3 in Social Care or equivalent to enable registration within 3 years.
• SVQ3 or higher qualification to enable registration as Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults.

Responsibilities

• Carry out delegated tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ensure confidentiality and safeguard service users’ wellbeing.
• Assist with personal care as required and observe Care Inspectorate standards.
• Travel efficiently between Orkney work locations to meet service needs.
• Work unsocial hours on a rota as required.
