Job summary

Compass Group UK & Ireland is seeking Relief Security Officers to join a 24/7 operation, providing cover for annual leave, training, sickness absence and other operational requirements. You will patrol, monitor access and maintain a visible security presence across day and night shifts.

We offer full training, ongoing development, and a reliable, professional team environment. The role offers £16.30 per hour with an average of 42 hours per week on a permanent full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence required (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
• Experience in security, facilities or customer-facing environments preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Flexible approach to rotating day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Providing security cover across day and night shifts.
• Supporting the core Security Officer team and Security Team Leader.
• Conducting regular patrols and maintaining a visible security presence.
• Responding to incidents, emergencies and security concerns professionally.
• Monitoring access and egress points.
• Completing accurate reports and incident documentation.
• Delivering excellent customer service to colleagues, visitors and clients.
• Supporting mobilisation, training and wider operational requirements as needed.
