Job summary

G4S is seeking a Relief Security Officer for a high-profile site in the Reading area. You will monitor CCTV and security systems, respond to incidents, and handle calls with professionalism. You must hold an SIA Door Supervisor/Guarding licence, be eligible for SC clearance, and possess a full UK driving licence.

Flexibility across days and nights is required. The role operates on a relief basis with 06:00–18:00 days and 18:00–06:00 nights.

Qualifications

• It is essential to hold an SIA licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
• SC clearance is required and you must pass National Security Vetting with residency in the UK (min 5 years).
• Full UK driving licence is required to access the site.
• You must be aged 18 or over and flexible to work days and nights on a relief basis.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are crucial.

Responsibilities

• Monitor NESO sites using CCTV, Intruder Alarm and Access Control systems.
• Receive, assess and respond to alarms and incidents per procedures.
• Handle inbound calls from customers and stakeholders professionally.
• Log and categorise incidents, route service requests, and escalate as needed.
• Maintain accurate incident records and report equipment faults.
• Ensure compliance with security procedures, data protection and NESO policies.
• Support colleagues during high demand and uphold NESO values.

We have a great opportunity to join G4S as a

Relief Security Officer, working on a high-profile security site in the

Reading area, working in their Physical Security Operations Centre!

Contract Information

Pay Rate: £17.00 per hour

Shift Pattern - No set shift pattern as this working on a relief style basis, you must ne fully flexible to work any day Monday - Sunday, including days and nights,

Shift Timings - 06:00 to 18:00 Days and 18:00 to 06:00 Nights

SIA Licences: Door Supervisor or Security Guarding

Security Clearance Required: SC Clearance

You will need to undergo Enhanced Background Checks prior to commencement of the role and be eligible to pass National Security Vetting (SC Clearance) which includes minimum 5 years residency in the UK.

You must have a Full UK Driving licence, which is a requirement to get to the site.

Your Time at Work

• Monitoring multiple NESO sites using CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Access Control, and other security management systems.
• Receive, assess, and respond to security alarms and incidents in accordance with established incident management procedures.
• Handling inbound customer and stakeholder calls professionally, obtaining accurate information and recording details.
• Log, categorise, prioritise, and route incidents and service requests using approved systems and processes.
• Escalating security incidents and operational issues in accordance with defined escalation procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of incidents, actions taken, and communications.
• Log faults or degradation of security/non-security systems and equipment.
• Contribute positively to team performance and support colleagues during periods of high operational demand.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant security procedures, data protection requirements, and organisational policies.
• Uphold and adhere to NESO values.
