Job summary

Corps Security in Northampton is seeking a highly skilled SIA Licensed Relief Security Officer to cover holidays and sickness across client sites. You’ll join a team on flexible shifts, including days, nights and weekends, with opportunities for a fixed pattern when available.

You’ll monitor site surveillance, brief visitors, manage deliveries, and maintain high professional standards while ensuring compliance with BS7858 vetting and training requirements.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front‑Line License - essential
  • A Full UK Manual Driving License - essential
  • Confidence to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site with regular patrols and recording per procedures.
  • Brief visitors and contractors; sign in/out and manage access.
  • Record delivery entries and process paperwork to site quality procedures.
  • Ensure patrols are carried out to required standards.
  • Set and unset primary/secondary alarm systems for out-of-hours security if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete daily logs, handovers, incident records and site reports.
  • Follow Instructions, Risk Assessments and safety documents; advise on improvements.
  • Keep training records up to date, including first aid and fire marshal training.
  • Maintain professionalism and display SIA licence at all times.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Relief Security Officer in Northampton to be trained and required to work at several of our client’s premises to assist us with holiday and sickness cover, with a view to being allocated a fixed shift pattern when the opportunities arise. You will work varied hours per week and be flexible to cover days, nights and weekends.

What Are You Going To Do
  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
  • To ensure that patrols are carried out and to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
  • Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
