Job summary

Corps Security is seeking a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to cover holiday and sickness at client premises, with opportunities for a fixed shift pattern when available.

You will be trained and work across various hours per week, with shifts 0700-1900 or 1900-0700. Corps Security is committed to developing staff and promoting internally where possible, ensuring a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • A valid SIA Front-Line License - essential
  • A valid SIA CCTV License - desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to multitask and work to deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle or reliable transport
  • Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording as required
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors are briefed, sign in/out
  • Record delivery entries and process paperwork per site quality procedures
  • Carry out patrols to required standards
  • Set/unset primary and secondary alarms for out-of-hours security
  • Comply with site waste management procedures
  • Complete daily occurrence logs, shift handovers and incident records
  • Familiarise with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and safety documents; assist Duty Manager
  • Maintain training records and ensure first aid/fire marshal training up to date
  • Maintain high SIA standards and display licence at all times
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to be trained and required to work at several of our client’s premises to assist us with holiday and sickness cover, with a view to being allocated a fixed shift pattern, when the opportunities arise.

What you will need

  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure.
  • Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)

What are you going to do
  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
  • To ensure that patrols are carried out and to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
  • Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
