Job summary

Securitas seeks a Relief Screening Officer to safeguard people and property in the Newport/Cardiff area. You will observe, report and manage incidents, performing screening using wands and detectors in a fast-paced environment.

Requires SIA licence, UK driving licence, and strong English communication. On-site role with benefits and a commitment to training and progression.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in datacentre operations or security, or equivalent service experience.
• Valid SIA Licence required.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Previous supervisory experience is ideal.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Reliable, team player, flexible & available out of hours.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Pay: £20.47 per hour
Hours: Average of 30 hours per week

As a Relief Screening Officer, you’ll be responsible for applying Screening Standard Operating Procedures, monitoring access points, and performing security checks to prevent breaches. Your duties will include conducting hand-held and walk-through metal detection searches, ensuring compliance with safety practices, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions. Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Require datacentre personnel to utilise metal detection and/or wand for secure area access
• Monitor traffic flow through screening checkpoints
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel
• Perform hand-held wand searches and walk-through metal detection searches
• Follow safe work practices and be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety. Notify superiors of any unsafe working conditions
• Carry out all functions, duties, or tasks in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, following applicable company policies and procedures. Seek clarification from superiors or authorised company representatives when uncertain
• Demonstrate understanding and engagement with the Securitas Core Values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness, whilst showing a natural ability to recognise risk within the workplace and consider safety as a priority, complying with relevant policies, procedures and training as provided by the Company
