Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is seeking Relief Retail Security Officers to cover holidays and sickness, primarily in North Wales, with flexible hours and shifts such as 6am-3pm and 3pm-11pm. You may be assigned across various locations and can work full-time or supplement your main income.

Your role is to provide a proactive security presence, safeguard colleagues and customers, manage incidents, and collaborate closely with the team. Training and vetting are part of the process.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old – legal requirement to work in front-line licensable activity.
• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence is required.
• 5 years checkable work and address history.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and smart in appearance.
• Friendly, approachable and professional; customer-facing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure colleague safety and provide a sense of assurance.
• Provide a smart, visible security presence and deterrent.
• Effective conflict management and incident control.
• Control access and egress; conduct security patrols.
• Engage with the public in a proactive, professional manner.
• Be aware of hazards and incidents and respond appropriately.
• Provide guidance and direct customers as first point of contact.
• Follow safety and security processes and procedures.
• Work as part of a team and build strong working relationships.
