Job summary

East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust in Dunstable is seeking a Relief Ambulance Care Assistant to move non-urgent patients between hospitals, treatment centres and care premises. You will work solo or in pairs, across different vehicle types, and provide compassionate care throughout.

A three-week paid training course accompanies the role, focusing on First Person on Scene clinical training and patient transport driving. Applicants must live within 25 miles or 60 minutes of the base.

Qualifications

• Literate and numerate to Trust tested level.
• Experience of dealing with people and customer care.
• Experience of working to deadlines and time frames.
• Experience of a fast-paced environment, staying calm and professional.

Responsibilities

• Transporting non-urgent patients to and from health and social care premises and private residences.
• Transferring frail patients to and from hospital and treatment centre appointments.
• Working in a team of two or alone with a professional and caring attitude.
• Operate across several vehicle types while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
