Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Relief Mobile Cook to join the NYES Management Catering Team, delivering tasty, nutritious home‑cooked meals across Boroughbridge and surrounding school kitchens. You will lead and support the team, ensuring high standards of food safety and service.

You will travel within the area with a full driving licence and business-insured vehicle. This role offers competitive pay and the Local Government Pension Scheme, plus access to a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering meals to students and staff in a school catering environment.
• Ability to lead kitchen team and manage stock, orders and admin tasks.
• Clean driving licence and willingness to travel within the area.

We are currently recruiting a Mobile Cook to join our team at various schools in Boroughbridge and the surrounding area school kitchens, catering for a varied number of meals per day, depending on the school’s requirements.

About the Role

As a Relief Mobile Cook your role will require you to lead and support the team to deliver an effective catering service operating to the highest standards of food safety.

Your role will require you to prepare, cook and serve meals to students and staff, setting up and clearing away the dining hall, washing up, as well as other kitchen management duties such as supervision of staff, ordering food, stock taking and administration.

Your role will require you to travel within the area as directed by the area management team. Full driving license and use of a personal vehicle with business use insurance are required. No weekend work!
