Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking Relief Cook & Housekeeper staff for Milverton Lodge, Formby, to support our Sheltered Housing team. This bank (casual) role combines cooking and resident care in a warm, safe environment.

You will prepare meals, assist residents with daily needs, keep communal areas clean, and participate in wellbeing activities. Training is provided; UK work eligibility, two references and a basic DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Experience not required; training provided.
• High standards of care and empathy are important.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and serve home‑cooked meals for residents, while maintaining food stock and ensuring proper rotation.
• Resident Support: Be the first point of contact for residents, offering a friendly face and support with their daily needs.
• Housekeeping: Ensure communal areas are clean, tidy, and well‑maintained, creating a comfortable environment for all.
• Wellbeing Promotion: Promote the overall wellbeing of our residents, ensuring they feel respected, empowered, and connected within our community.
