Job summary

Hanover Housing Association Ltd is seeking a Relief Cook to join our team across our developments in Elgin, Forres and Buckie. The role involves cooking healthy meals, managing stock, and ensuring safety standards, with flexibility for weekends and public holidays.

You will work to care plans for vulnerable residents, using Cook Safe and HACCP guidelines, and support from a values-driven employer offering a Scottish Living Wage context and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Cooking and preparing healthy and nutritional meals for customers, plus cakes and bakes.
• Maintaining kitchen to a high standard in line with environmental health regulations.
• Ordering and stock control with emphasis on local produce.
• Preparing and serving nutritious meals for vulnerable people in line with care plans (soft diet, diabetes, allergies).

Relief Cook

Location: Elgin, Forres & Buckie

Working Hours: Various hours available

Remuneration: £13.46 - £14.16 per hour

About the Role

Hanover are recruiting for a friendly and positive individual to join our team as a Relief Cook across our developments in Elgin, Forres and Buckie. The role includes working weekends and public holidays, so flexibility is essential.

You will be cooking and preparing healthy and nutritional meals for our customers as well as cakes and bakes for customers.

Maintaining kitchen to a high standard in line with environmental health regulations.

Ordering and stock control with an emphasis on getting produce from local suppliers.

This role is development based, preparing, and serving nutritious meals for vulnerable people in line with individual care plans. I.e. Soft diet, diabetes, allergies etc.

Desirable

• A good understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
• A food hygiene and/or catering qualification.
• Ideally, one year's experience in a similar / equivalent role.
