Job summary

Aberlour’s Options Ayrshire in Prestwick is seeking relief care workers to support children and young people with disabilities during busy periods. The role is casual, hourly paid, with night and overnight shifts on a rota basis, and eligibility to register with the SSSC in Residential Child Care Workers and Day Care of Children Services.

Ideal candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism and complex needs, and be willing to work towards the relevant qualifications.

Qualifications

• Social care experience and understanding of autism, complex needs and disability.
• Willing to register with the SSSC in Residential Child Care Workers and Day Care of Children Services.
• Demonstrate awareness of working with people affected by disability and rights of young people.
• Hold or work towards HNC and SVQ 3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide relief cover during staff absence and busy periods.
• Work on a rota basis with night and/or overnight shifts.
