Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Relief Chef Manager to cover holidays and sickness across Nottinghamshire locations, with travel between sites in your own vehicle. You will lead kitchen teams, oversee food preparation, and ensure high-quality dishes while managing costs and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Menu Planning and Execution – create and plan menus, oversee food preparation and presentation, monitor wastage and portion control.
• Employee Management – recruit, train, and supervise all colleagues, including chefs and front of house, with coaching and feedback.
• Inventory and Cost Control – monitor stock levels and sensible ordering.
• Customer Relations – understand catering needs and maintain open communication with customers.
• Health and Safety Compliance – ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and food safety protocols.
• Budget and Financial Management – develop and manage kitchen budgets and identify cost savings.
• Menu Development and Innovation – stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate ideas.
• Compliance and Documentation – maintain records of inventory, orders, and preparation processes.
