Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Education and Children’s Services Department is seeking Relief ASN Minibus Drivers for Lewis & Harris to cover staff absences. You will drive minibuses to required standards and may attend training as needed, with PVG clearance required for this regulated role.

Work is on an as-and-when-required basis, with interviews in person. The post carries a Distant Islands Allowance, and sponsorship is not available. Closing date is 9 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current UK Driving Licence D1 Category.
• Previous experience as a driver is essential.
• Experience of working with children is essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake minibus driving duties for ASN services.
• Ensure minibuses are operated to the standard deemed acceptable by the Comhairle.
