Job summary

Independent Lives is seeking a reliable Personal Assistant to support a 29-year-old male client with MD. The role includes day, weekend, and the option of a sleeping night shift. You will help with personal care, cooking, driving, and social activities, with an emphasis on safety and empathy.

Hours are Wednesdays 1pm-6pm, Saturdays 9:30am-12pm, plus potential additional shifts. A full driving licence and manual handling training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Personal Assistant preferred.
• Manual handling awareness or training is useful.
• Good timekeeping and reliability essential.

Responsibilities

• Medication prompting/administering.
• Personal grooming and hygiene support.
• Eating and drinking assistance.
• Moving and handling tasks.
• Shopping, cooking and meal preparation as needed.
• Transportation and driving duties.
• Companionship and social outings.
• Looking after client’s pets when needed.
• Assist with dressing and undressing and bathroom needs.
• Support during cinema, cafe, restaurant visits.
