Job summary

Squarepoint Capital seeks a Reliability Software Engineer on the Data team to own observability tooling, job orchestration, and production pipelines. You will collaborate with quant researchers, traders, and engineers to build scalable systems that surface issues before incidents and enable faster, safer data workflows.

You will drive ownership and proactive problem solving, delivering reliable platforms powering data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
4+ years in Software Engineering, Reliability, or similar.
3+ years Python; familiarity with Git.
Proficiency with Linux CLI.
Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
Practical knowledge of data transfer via SFTP, HTTP APIs, and cloud object storage.
Strong verbal and written communication; proactive and ownership-driven.

Responsibilities

Observability: Build health monitoring and configurable checks to surface problems before they become incidents.
System Automation: Improve automation for operational tasks and the job orchestration platform.
Self-Serve Request Automation: Develop Jira-driven workflows for end-to-end operational requests.
Data Pipelines: Onboard datasets from vendors and scale pipelines and frameworks.
Reliability Engineering: Own deployments, support users, capacity planning, and incident resolution end-to-end.
