Job summary
Avara Foods Ltd. in Brackley is hiring a Reliability Engineer to drive asset reliability and maintenance planning on site. You will monitor equipment downtime, analyse trends and implement reliability initiatives across the production area.
The role suits engineers with maintenance experience and a strong analytical mindset, working Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 in a busy manufacturing setting. An engineering degree is preferred.
Qualifications
- Engineering qualification above L3 (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, HND/HNC or L3 engineering qualification may be considered depending on experience).
- Experience in an Engineering Maintenance environment.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Good interpersonal communication and ability to work independently or in a team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain high level of reliability and availability of factory equipment through a planned maintenance regime.
- Gather and analyze downtime data to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate maintenance jobs, both planned and reactive, for the area.
- Review completed job sheets and produce downtime data for weekly meetings.
- Lead and support installation and capital projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues, suppliers and contractors to resolve issues.
- Develop weekly/monthly maintenance plans to improve asset performance.

As a Reliability Engineer, you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00.
As a Reliability Engineer you’ll have Engineering responsibility for an area within the operational environment as the Reliability Engineer. Monitoring equipment downtime, analysing trends to drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives and projects
- Reliability/Asset Care Manager, responsible for all equipment in an area
- Maintain a high level of reliability and availability of factory equipment through an effective planned maintenance regime
- Responsible for the gathering and analysis of equipment efficiency and downtime in order to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Raising of Planned Maintenance or reactive maintenance jobs for respective area
- Review of all completed job sheets in respective area
- Production of downtime data for weekly meetings
- Lead and support installation and capital projects
- Communicate and collaborate with other colleagues, suppliers and contractors
- Understanding of engineering and operational KPI’s and be able to identify areas for improvement
- Interact with on-shift engineers and other site engineering teams to resolve challenging equipment problems
- Support the Site Principal Engineer and engineering peers to develop robust weekly and monthly maintenance plans that improve asset availability and equipment performance
- Coordinate OEM engineer service visits with production and planning teams and scheduling further work that arises from those inspections
- Oversee equipment calibrations and complete and review PUWER assessments to maintain equipment compliance
- Engineering Qualification above L3 (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, HND/HNC or L3 engineering qualification may be considered dependent on experience)
- Experience gained from an Engineering Maintenance environment
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong Analytical skills
- Good IT ability
- Knowledge of CMMS system (Mainsaver/Spidex)
- CAD experience
- Experience in managing projects
- On site contractor management
