Job summary

Regulatory Solicitor in Leeds is sought to join a national regulatory team. You will handle inquests for police, emergency services, insurers, and healthcare clients, with advocacy responsibilities and a growing caseload.

Qualifications

• Inquest experience is essential.
• Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE.

• Criminal defence experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients and preparing inquest cases for court.
• Preparing written submissions on points of law.
• Attending inquests and conducting advocacy for clients.
• Managing a caseload and progressing matters efficiently.
• Handling post-inquest issues such as Prevention of Future Deaths reports.
• Attending administrative applications and hearings, including travel when required.
• Achieving agreed financial and chargeable targets.
• Working to deadlines, quality measures and KPIs.
• Complying with relevant policies and procedures.

Regulatory Solicitor

Location: Leeds

Salary: £60,000 to £85,000 (depending on experience)

Experience: 3+ years’ PQE

Our client is looking to hire a Regulatory Solicitor into a large, well-regarded national regulatory team, based in Leeds. This is a great move for someone who genuinely enjoys advocacy and wants a role where you are regularly on your feet, running inquest matters for a broad client base.

The focus is inquests for police and other emergency services, insurers and healthcare clients. If you have solid inquest experience and want to build your advocacy profile further, this is well worth a conversation.

This is predominantly an advocacy role, with regular attendance at court. You will take ownership of your own caseload, prepare matters thoroughly, and represent clients at inquests, supported by a wider national team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Advising clients and preparing inquest cases for court
