A regulatory agency is seeking a Regulatory Officer for its Combined Packaging Regime team in the South West region. The role involves planning and delivering compliance activities, responding to incidents, and engaging with businesses. The ideal candidate will possess strong influencing skills, a valid UK driving license, and be comfortable with both field and desk-based work. Regulatory Officer 1 – Combined Packaging Regime, South West. This role is based in the Combined Packaging Regime team within Waste Markets & Shipments (WM&S) of Environmental Markets and Enforcement. We are a national team with officers based across England, ensuring a consistent regulatory approach. We enforce government regulations to ensure waste is disposed of correctly and help drive a circular economy.
You will be responsible for planning, monitoring and delivering compliance and enforcement activity within your area of waste regulation. You may be required to respond to incidents and provide business continuity support. The role involves field and desk-based work, sometimes requiring travel within the South West region.
Responding to incidents is a central part of the role. You may be required to take an incident role and be available for incident response or business continuity support. This may attract additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be provided to support you in the incident role.
